Supplier Quality Management Software
'A fine line of knowing and trusting your process versus hitting the right numbers for customer buy off.' A supplier said that in public. Score suppliers on the evidence, not on the buy-off number.
Supplier development starts on day one of APQP, not at PPAP, and the supplier three tiers down is working from the print alone. QualityEngineer.ai tiers suppliers from weighted quality, delivery, compliance and responsiveness scores, tracks SCARs through the supplier's response to verified closure, puts supplier audits on a calendar, and gives suppliers a portal to submit PPAP documents, answer SCARs, and complete questionnaires.
Capabilities
What Supplier Quality does
Supplier Risk Scoring
Score each supplier on quality, delivery, compliance, and responsiveness. The software weights the scores into an overall score out of 100 and assigns a risk tier (Critical, High, Moderate, Low) from fixed bands, so the same scores always give the same tier. Every reassessment is kept in the qualification history, and a High or Critical tier flags the supplier for an audit.
SCAR WorkflowsCore
Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests from the supplier record. Each SCAR moves from draft to issued, to the supplier's response with containment, root cause, and corrective action, to your verification of effectiveness, and to closed, and the date of each step is recorded. An AI coach helps the engineer work the root cause, including a 5-Why chain. Every SCAR is numbered and linked to the supplier record.
Audit Scheduling & Calendar
Schedule supplier audits and qualification reviews and see them on a calendar. Record findings, and raise corrective actions with the supplier. When a supplier's risk tier comes out High or Critical, or it is marked as a critical vendor, its qualification is flagged as needing an audit, with the reason recorded.
Supplier Scorecards
Every supplier gets a scorecard built from its PPAP evaluations: the average score, findings by severity and category, dispositions, the average PPAP response time, and the share of PPAP requests closed by their due date. Scorecards update as new evaluations complete.
Supplier Self-Assessment Questionnaires
Send AI-generated self-assessment questionnaires for initial qualification or periodic re-evaluation. The questions are drafted from the supplier's commodity, certifications, risk tier, and open SCARs. The supplier answers in the portal, and AI scores the completed responses out of 100 and lists strengths and gaps for your review. The qualification decision stays with you.
Supplier Portal with Branded ExperienceTeam
Your suppliers use a dedicated portal to submit PPAP documents, respond to SCARs, and complete questionnaires. A PPAP request goes out as a link the supplier opens without signing up. For SCARs and questionnaires, you invite the supplier contact by email, and they sign in with a magic link or a password they set. Portal access is included on Team and Enterprise plans. Apply your company branding so suppliers see your name and logo, not ours.
Onboarding & Readiness
Start onboarding and list the documents you need from the supplier, and each one waits as a placeholder until it is uploaded. Certificate expiry dates are tracked, and the dashboard counts certificates expiring in the next 30 days. Audits carry a readiness checklist you tick off. Only an admin can approve or reject a supplier.
AI Add from URL
Add new suppliers faster: paste in a company website URL, and AI reads its home, about, quality, and certifications pages to pre-fill the supplier profile with company name, location, certifications with registrar and expiry, industries served, capabilities, and contact details. Nothing is saved until you review it and create the supplier.
Who does what
Supplier quality management: the software prepares, an engineer decides.
Prepared by the software
- Weights quality, delivery, compliance, and responsiveness scores into an overall score and assigns the risk tier from fixed bands
- Flags a supplier as needing an audit when its tier comes out High or Critical, or it is marked a critical vendor, and records why
- Drafts self-assessment questionnaires from the supplier's commodity, certifications, risk tier, and open SCARs, not a generic checkbox form
- Scores completed questionnaire responses out of 100 and lists strengths and gaps
- Reads supplier websites to pre-fill company profiles, saving manual data entry when adding new suppliers to the approved list
Decided by an engineer
- Approves or rejects each document change the software proposes from a corrective action or an engineering change, before it is applied
- Approves, rejects, or waives each PPAP element, and approves or rejects the submission
- Approves NCR dispositions and signs off each corrective action
- Signs control plans, PFMEAs, and other title-block documents by role, and enters the authorized signature on the warrant
Signed in the app: typed signature, name, date
Workflow
How it works
- 01Add suppliers manually or by pasting a website URL, and AI fills in the profile for you to review
- 02Score each supplier on quality, delivery, compliance, and responsiveness, and the software assigns the risk tier
- 03Schedule initial qualification audits and send self-assessment questionnaires through the portal
- 04Receive supplier document submissions and questionnaire responses in the portal
- 05Issue SCARs when nonconformances occur and track them to verified closure
- 06Review supplier scorecards and the dashboard counts: suppliers by tier, pending audits, expiring certificates, and open SCARs
Use cases
Built for quality teams managing supplier bases outside their ERP
- Supplier quality engineers at Tier 1 and Tier 2 automotive suppliers who need a structured SCAR system for their IATF 16949 customers without an enterprise QMS project
- Quality managers at ISO 9001-certified manufacturers tracking approved supplier lists, qualification status, and certification expiry dates
- Procurement teams that need documented evidence of supplier qualification for customer audits: scorecards, SCAR records, and audit reports
- NPI teams qualifying new suppliers under program timeline pressure, using AI-generated questionnaires and readiness checklists to move approvals along
- Quality directors building a supplier development program who need risk tier visibility, SCAR status, and supplier response times across the supplier base
- Small and mid-size manufacturers who currently run their entire supplier quality program in spreadsheets and email and need a structured system without the ERP module price tag
